RYA/MCA YACHTMASTER POWER FORTNIGHT OVERVIEW:
Join us for 2 weeks and complete the shorebased and practical parts of the RYA Yachtmaster Power Offshore (or Coastal) Certificate of Competence (pre requisites apply). This fortnight is ideal for experienced super yacht, delievery and work boat crew looking to progress.
YACHTMASTER FORTNIGHT FORMAT
- 6 day RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased Course
- 1 day RYA Radar Course
- 1 day RYA Diesel Course
- 5 day RYA Yachtmaster Power Practical and Exam
Students may achieve Yachtmaster Coastal CoC or Yachtmaster Offshore COC, depending on previous experience.
RYA/MCA YACHTMASTER FORTNIGHT PRE REQUISITES:
- MINIMUM AGE 18
- KNOWLEDGE
- RYA Day Skipper Shorebased
- CERTIFICATES
- RYA First Aid OR STCW Elementary First Aid
- RYA Short Range Certificate or higher level GMDSS
- RYA Sea Survival Course OR STCW Personal Survival Techniques (recommended for everyone, compulsory if you are seeking a MCA / RYA Commercial Endorsement)
- SEATIME, of which at least 50% is logged in tidal waters, see table below

Qualifying passages and seatime should have been logged in the ten years preceding the exam, seatime that is older old does not qualify.
RYA/MCA YACHTMASTER FORTNIGHT RATIO & VESSEL:
The shorebased sessions may run with up to 8:1 students to instructor, the practical course will not exceed 3:1.
We run a sensible sized (8.5m) motor boat which can be operated safely by just 2 crew. If you want to train on a larger, twin engine motor yacht then we are probably the wrong school for you! Be aware, you are unlikely to be guaranteed such a good Student : Instructor ratio elsewhere! Click here for information about our training vessel(s).
