Radar Level 2

RADAR LEVEL 2 COURSE View Dates

This 1-day practical course follows on from the 1-day RYA Radar Course and gives you a chance to put your new-found knowledge into practice onboard a small motor yacht on the Solent. It is a slightly more advanced Radar course where the Instructor will help you put yesterday’s classroom knowledge into real life scenarios.

It does not matter if you are a sailor or a power boater, this day focuses on the use of Radar as opposed to the handling techniques of the vessel, we operate under power purely for convenience. Join us for a low ratio day and learn how to really position fix, complete pilotage exercises using real harbours and most importantly identify real craft by Radar. Practice how to make the appropriate decisions to avoid collisions, under the watchful eye of our Instructor. This is one of Chieftain’s home grown courses, written and developed by us. Your Instructor is an experienced small craft operator and will help you fast-track the essential knowledge, understanding and experience required to safely navigate in both good and restricted visibility.

OVERVIEW:

The one day RYA Radar course is a fantastic place to learn the basics, but just like learning to drive a car it is only after you have passed the basic course that you really learn. Join us for a day of practical Radar use in the central Solent, on board our vessel.
