YACHT MAINTENANCE COURSE AIMS:

This intensive week is aimed at owners, skippers and crew who want to take on maintenance of their vessel. It is particularly relevant for long distance, offshore and rally cruisers who will have to become self reliant on passage. Maintenance Week includes;

  • Pre departure, service work and routine preventative maintenance on board your yacht
  • Fault finding for machinery and electrical problems
  • “Get you home,” repairs that will allow you to complete your voyage and continue sailing safely
  • Recommended spares and tools to carry on board

During the week you will cover all of content of our five shorter courses:

  • Skin Fitting Removal and Servicing
  • Dacron Sail Repairs
  • Spinnaker Repairs
  • Cutlass Bearing, Rudder Bearings, Shaft seals & P Brackets

YACHT MAINTENANCE COURSE DURATION:

The intensive course is run over a 6-day week

YACHT MAINTENANCE COURSE PRE REQUISITES:

This course is aimed at existing boaters. However no previous mechanical ability is required. Apart from the sail repair sections the course is equally useful for sailors and motorboaters.

The course is a mix off theory and practical however there is far more hands on practical than lecture. You will make use of our training workshop which is equipped with a wide range of engines, 12 Volt equipment, parts of a rig, water makers, winches, damaged sails and extensive tool kits.
