RYA STAGE 1 YOUTH DINGHY SAILING COURSE AIMS:
An introduction to the parts of the boat and the basic principles of how to get a boat sailing.
STAGE 1 DINGHY SAILING COURSE DURATION:
For individuals we offer several variations of this course:
- Two consecutive days (0915 to 1645)
- Five mid-week summer evenings, i.e. once a week (1800 to 2100)
- As part of our more thorough 5 days school holiday Learn to Sail course
For groups and colleges we can bespoke the timings as required
PRE REQUISITES:
- Aged 8-15
- Water confident (i.e. can swim 25m in clothing)
COURSE CONTENT:
- Launching and recovery
- Sailing across the wind
- Turning around
- Steering and basic parts of the boat
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
- 2 days of instruction
- Use of our boats
- Loan of a buoyancy aid
- RYA Youth Stage 1 Sailing Certificate
- Free Parking
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED:
- Wetsuit (available for £5 a day to hire from us)
- Footwear/wetsuit boots
- Lunch
