THE RYA POWERBOAT TRAINING SCHEME
The RYA Powerboat Training Scheme is a series of short courses for owners and skippers of small open powered craft. These craft are generally under 10m in length and will not have cooking facilities or cabins on board.
The foundation of the scheme is the 2-day RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course which is used by both leisure and commercial drivers. It is often likened to the car driving licence (but much more fun).
Our RYA Powerboat courses are taught on board either our XS RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats) and Rigiflex boats, or on board your own boat. Our RIBs are between 6 and 7.5m in length, powered by petrol outboard engines and fitted with colour chart plotters. If you are looking for something more bespoke then let us know as we have access to a variety of other craft. Anyone who completes an RYA Powerboat Level 2 (or higher) course with us is automatically eligible for an ICC (Power 10m).

WHAT IS THE RYA POWERBOAT LEVEL 3 COURSE?
There is no such thing. The RYA Powerboat Level 3 course was discontinued in 1995. Students who have completed the Powerboat Level 2 Course can head in three different directions, RYA Powerboat Tender Operator, RYA Safetyboat or RYA Powerboat Intermediate. Any training centre offering you a RYA Powerboat Level 3 Course is at best rather confused or very out of date or is simply misleading you.
