RYA POWERBOAT LEVEL 2 OVERVIEW View Dates
Whether you are new to powerboating or have some experience and are looking for certification, the Powerboat Level 2 course could well be for you. Level 2 offers a general introduction to powerboating and teaches core boat handling and safety skills.
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is generally considered as the licence for powerboats; it is often deemed the equivalent to a driving licence. The qualification is widely recognised throughout the world. The Powerboat Level 2 covers everything in the RYA Powerboat Level 1 and a lot more
Powerboat training with Chieftain Training isn’t all about the certification, though. The two day course will equip you with the necessary safety skills, will help to build confidence and is always fun. Satisfy your need for speed in our relaxed and safe environment with this ever popular powerboat course.
RYA POWERBOAT LEVEL 2 DURATION:
The Powerboat Level 2 course takes two days (0930 to 1700 hrs) to complete.
As one of our most popular training courses, it runs most weekend and frequently during the week. Please contact us if you would like to book the course on a specific date as we are happy to set up courses to accommodate individual needs.
RYA POWERBOAT LEVEL 2 PRE REQUISITES:
- This course is suitable for beginners and for those drivers with some experience who are looking for formal training.
- Minimum age of 12 years applies; Under 16s are advised to “Not be in charge of a powerboat unless under the supervision of a responsible adult”.
RYA POWERBOAT LEVEL 2 CONTENT:
This course is largely practical so although there are some short theory sections to complete, wherever possible this is done on board the powerboat.
The course essentially provides everything you need to get started with an emphasis on you becoming confident and competent at boat handling and being aware of the associated safety consideration and equipment. The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is broadly equivalent to a series of driving lessons, but a lot more fun.
The Powerboat Level Two will prepare you for driving a powerboat unsupervised with confidence. While primarily a boat handling course you may consider following it up with the RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course which covers high speed navigation and passage making in far more detail.
