Our Youth Sailing Scheme provides a clear, progressive pathway from first time afloat through to confident, performance-focused sailors and racers. Courses are designed specifically for young people, with age-appropriate coaching, modern dinghies, and a strong emphasis on confidence, teamwork and enjoyment on the water.
Weekend & Evening Courses
Run over 2 full days or 5 evenings
These courses follow the recognised Royal Yachting Association Youth Sailing Scheme and are ideal for steady progression during term time.

RYA Stage 1 – First steps in sailing: launching, steering, basic sail handling and safety.

RYA Stage 2 – Building confidence: sailing in different directions, improved control and basic theory.

RYA Stage 3 – Better boat handling: sailing efficiently, manoeuvres and awareness.

RYA Stage 4 – Sailing well: confident boat handling, preparation and sailing in stronger conditions.
After completing Stage 4, youth sailors are able to progress onto the same advanced modules and certificates as adults, should they wish to continue their development through mainstream sailing pathways.
