YACHT RIGGING & ROPE SPLICING COURSE AIMS:
We will help you understand how to set up and maintain your rig, how to splice like a pro and service your yacht winches and deck hardware.
“Yacht Rigging & Rope Splicing” is one of our home-grown courses that our instructors have written and developed. To our knowledge there is no other course like it. You will spend the morning learning about rigging and the some of the cause of rig failure. Half the afternoon is spent on servicing deck hardware such as winches and the remainder of the day is devoted to splicing different types of ropes.

WHAT IS COVERED IN THE YACHT RIGGING & ROPE SPLICING COURSE?
A mixture of classroom and hands on training covering:
- Rig layout & formations
- Rig inspections
- Riveting and removing rivets
- Servicing winches & deck hardware
- Splicing a dyneema soft shackle
- Dyneema splicing
- Braid on braid splicing
- Sailmaker’s Whipping
WHAT’S INCLUDED ON THE YACHT RIGGING & ROPE SPLICING COURSE?
- Day of training & use of winches, rigging etc.
- Use of tools for splicing, whipping, riveting etc.
- Soft shackle and eye splices to take away
- CT Yacht Rigging & Rope Splicing Certificate (PDF sent by email following the course)

WHAT IS THE TEACHING RATIO FOR THE YACHT RIGGING & ROPE SPLICING COURSE?
We have a self imposed a limitation of 8 students on this course. However we will run the course with as few as 2 students. Each student has use of their own set of fids, needles and palm. Winch servicing is done in pairs.
