RYA DINGHY INSTRUCTOR PRE ENTRY OVERVIEW:
Prior to enrolling on a RYA Dinghy Instructor Course candidates need to have passed the Pre-Entry Assessment. This is a test of your sailing skills and proves that you are ready to undergo Instructor Training. Those that are confident can attend a Direct Assessment.
PRE ENTRY COURSE COURSE DURATION:
Coaching is a day and assessment is a day. Most people book both back to back bit if you feel particularly confident you can attend just the assessment day.
PRE REQUISITES:
- Experienced and Competent Dinghy Sailor to RYA Seamanship level
- Minimum age 15
COURSE CONTENT
COACHING DAY CONTENT:
The coaching day will look at double handed dinghy sailing and seamanship skills which may include sailing backwards, coming alongside a moored boat, picking up a mooring, MOB, sailing efficiently on all point of sail, rudderless sailing, anchoring under sail or in fact any part of the National Sailing Scheme.

The assessment is a part day (finish times vary) and is likely to include;
