SUPER YACHT FAST TRACK PROGRAMMES:
The Super Yacht industry is flourishing. It is a very competitive game to get into. Thousands of young adults are attracted by the sunshine, high salaries and global travel of this glamorous industry. If a career in the super-yacht industry appeals, there is no question that you need to have the basic training on your CV before anyone will even consider you. Some of this training is legally required to work at sea; some is expected by the industry. Chieftain Training offers several Super-Yacht Crew Training Programmes, pick the one that suits your availability and budget.
HOW DO I GET STARTED IN THE SUPER YACHT INDUSTRY?
The first decision is whether you want to work as deck crew or interior crew.
DECK CREW
For deck crew we have 3 options
- Foundation (2 weeks)- The bare minimum to apply for work.
- Module 1 (4 weeks)- A more thorough CV enhancing programme.
- Module 1 & 2 (8 weeks)- A much fuller programme that will not only get you work but allow you to start logging sea time towards becoming and Officer.
The Super-Yacht Deck Crew “Foundation”
Gives you the minimum certificate required to be employed on a super yacht as deck crew and to drive the yacht’s tenders.
The Super Yacht Deck Crew “Module 1″
Includes everything in the “Foundation” programme and gives you additional training and qualifications to make you far more employable than the average “green” crew, who you will be up against.
If you want to progress to Module 2 then pick Module , not the Foundation Option
Super Yacht Deck Crew Module 2, 3 & 4
Module 1 can be followed back to back by Module 2 to help you fast track your way up the ranks towards Officer and ultimately Captain. before progressing to module 3 you will need to gain some sea time with an employer/yacht.
INTERIOR CREW
The Super-yacht Stewardess Program will provide everything you need to get started. STCW Basic Safety, Security Duties, Food Safety, Marine Radio and Basic Powerboat Handling.
