Dozens of RYA school offer Fast Track to Yachtmaster Sail programmes but they do not offer Fast Track to Yachtmaster power. Well, we do!
A modular programme for those who want to fast track their way into the motor yacht industry. You can join as many modules as you like. Most candidates initially book modules 1 and 2 as a package
Motor Yacht Module 1 (Deck Hand and Inshore Skipper) 4 weeks
Suitable for beginners, this will qualify you as both a motor yacht deck hand and an inshore motor yacht skipper. Employers however are usually looking for a higher level of qualification for skippers so consider this a stepping stone to module 2.
Motor Yacht Module 2 (Coastal) 4 weeks
Successful candidates will complete the necessary mileage and support courses before qualifying as a Yachtmaster Coastal Skipper (Power). They will be ready to enter the industry.
Mile Building
Between taking the Yachtmaster Coastal and Yachtmaster Offshore exams you are required to log additional seatime (miles at sea). This is done away from the centre, by dipping your first toe into the industry. Some candidates join an experienced skipper on a few motor yacht deliveries, some may begin work on local charters. Some will pay for specific mile builder trips. Once you have accrued the necessary miles you can return to us for Module 3.
Mileage Requirements for Yachtmaster Offshore
2,500 miles logged including at least 5 passage over 60 miles and at least 2 of those as skipper. At least 1,250 of those miles, 3 of those passage and one of the skippered passage must be in tidal waters.
Motor Yacht Module 3 (Offshore Skipper) 3 weeks
Having gained the relevant experience you can now upgrade from Yachtmaster Coastal to Yachtmaster Offshore.
Sail or Motor Yacht Ocean Module
This module is suitable for those who have worked through our Motor Yacht programme or for those who have completed an equivalent Yachtmaster Sail programme at a sailing centre. It is for experienced skippers.

Mileage Requirements for Yachtmaster Ocean
Yachtmaster Offshore plus 1 passage of over 600 miles (as mate or skipper) where at least a 200 mile run is more than 50 miles offshore.
